Sign-in and request protection

The cityxdate-session cookie connects your browser to its server session. The XSRF-TOKEN cookie supports protection against forged requests. These are first-party service and security cookies, rather than advertising preferences.

The current session configuration uses a two-hour lifetime; continued activity can renew the session. Signing out ends the authenticated session. Clearing cookies or blocking required storage can sign you out and prevent posting, messaging or other account actions. Cookie lifetimes do not describe how long account records are retained.

Temporary navigation memory

When you open a post from a list, CityXDate may save its return path in session storage under cityx-post-return. This helps the Back action return to the list you were browsing. It is separate from your sign-in session and is normally cleared when that browser tab’s session ends.

Website traffic measurement

CityXDate uses Google Analytics to understand website visits, page views and traffic sources. Your browser contacts Google and Analytics may store first-party cookies to distinguish visits. Browser and device information and the pages you visit may be included.

The site disables Google Signals and advertising personalization in its Analytics configuration. You can restrict Analytics requests through your browser privacy settings or Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

External resources and infrastructure

The website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to request those files, which exposes ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Cloudflare also sits in front of the production website to deliver and protect traffic; its features may use additional security or measurement technologies.

Browser storage and network requests are different things: a resource can receive connection information even without setting a cookie. Review the providers’ information for their handling of those requests.

Your browser controls

Use your browser’s privacy settings to inspect or remove site cookies and storage. You can also restrict third-party requests or storage through your browser. Some settings may affect the layout or prevent account features from working.

There is no advertising-preference dashboard on CityXDate. Clearing storage does not delete posts, profiles, messages or other information kept on the service.
